Ok, for those who doesn't read much with the earlier Archie Sonic comic, here's a small history:

Whom Kaze and Eirwen had encounter was named King Alexander the Unifier. And yes, he's a Acorn, Sally and Elias' first ancestor. Of course, he is different than what was described in the comic, I just basically turned him into my version and used his name to tie in with the story.

Btw, if you want to learn more about the lineage of Acorn Family, you should get the book Sonic the Hedgehog The Complete Sonic Comic Encyclopedia. AWESOME book, in a way, saves you time to understand the characters and the world of 20 years built of this comic book series.

In the master bedroom of the king and queen, Kaze hung his head. The story wasn’t even close to over.
Ever since that incident, the citizens had been worried for their crown prince, although they never learned the full story aside from vague rumours spread from castle servants. Kaze never wanted anyone to see his disfigured wings ever again. And though his people sent regards to him, he didn’t want their pity. At least he didn’t shove them away, instead using their concern as motivation to become a stronger person.

“That wasn’t the worst part. I tried—” Kaze paused, guilt covering his features. His voice grew low, soaked with regret. “…I tried to kill myself.”

“Da…Darren?” Kaze asked in a disbelieving whisper.
The ebony hedgehog stood slightly behind Queen Eirwen, looking tense and unsure. He didn’t glance up, but rather seemed to shrink back as though ashamed of himself. At first they didn’t see any difference from two years earlier, but then the deep lines of tiredness and unbroken depression became apparent.
“Your Majesties,” he murmured, his voice so formal that it was almost foreign.
Ignoring the solemn words, Kaze walked toward him, hoping that the other wasn’t an illusion that would disappear in the next second. Benonic followed close behind, nearly as stunned. Once they stood face-to-face with their young brother, the azure hedgehog’s hand shakily reached out to touch his shoulder. He couldn’t help letting out a choked but relieved gasp.
